Nobina wins comprehensive contract for rail replacement traffic in Skåne
Skånetrafiken has renewed and expanded its trust in Nobina for both planned and emergency rail replacement traffic. Nobina has previously been responsible for parts of the system for Öresundståg and the planned traffic for Pågatågen. Under the new contract, Nobina takes full responsibility for all replacement traffic for both train systems.
The agreement marks an important milestone for Nobina and strengthens its focus on rail replacement traffic. By utilizing its real-time platform for replacement traffic, a vast network of subcontractors, and its own resources, Nobina offers a flexible and scalable bus traffic solution when train services are disrupted.
Nobina has the capacity to handle large traffic volumes, respond quickly during emergency replacement scenarios, and provide accurate and up-to-date real-time information about replacement traffic.
The first phase of the agreement comes into effect in December 2025, with the second phase starting in December 2026.
The agreement creates opportunities to further develop real-time passenger information for both planned and emergency scenarios. Together with Skånetrafiken and the owners of Öresundståg, Nobina will enhance real-time solutions and integration with travel planners and signage systems for replacement traffic, providing passengers with even better traffic information when trains are canceled.
“This agreement strengthens our position in the field of rail replacement traffic and demonstrates that our long-term efforts to create sustainable and flexible solutions that benefit passengers are essential. Through collaboration with Skånetrafiken and other stakeholders in the region, we gain new opportunities to continue developing services that truly meet the needs of passengers," says Martin Pagrotsky, Managing director of Nobina Sweden.
