Topi Simola appointed new Managing Director of Nobina Finland

Topi Simola has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Nobina Finland and a member of Nobina's Group Management. He comes from VR Group, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of City Traffic, and will assume the role as Managing Director of Nobina Finland on August 26. At the same time, current Managing Director Petri Auno will assume a new role within Nobina as COO with group-wide responsibilities including Procurement, Safety and Security, as well as implementation of group-wide working methods.

Topi has extensive experience in the public transport industry and several leading positions, where he has successfully run and developed the business from both strategic and operational functions.

"I am pleased to welcome Topi to Nobina. With his vast experience from the public transport sector in both Finland and Sweden, I am confident that Topi, together with the Finnish management team, will take our position in Finland to the next level and continue to strengthen Nobina in the Nordic region," says Henrik Dagnäs, CEO of Nobina.

"It is very rewarding to be part of a company with such a clear forward-looking mindset. I look forward to continuing to drive both our operations and sustainable development forward together with committed colleagues. Public transport has a central role in creating a more sustainable future, and I am proud to be part of this journey," says Topi Simola.

As of September 1, Petri will take on the role of COO Nobina with responsibility for the group-wide functions of Procurement, Safety and Security, Start and Implementation, and e-mobility. Petri will remain a member of Group Management.

"During his years as Managing Director of Nobina Finland, Petri has shown great knowledge of Nobina and the industry as a whole. His operational experience will be an important part of Nobina's continued development and success," says Henrik.

"I look forward to bringing my operational experience into my new role as COO, where I will focus on developing and strengthening Nobina's position in the Nordic market together with knowledgeable colleagues. It is exciting to take on new challenges and continue to contribute to Nobina's continued success and growth," says Petri Auno.
